Objective:
Threes is a casual dice game that combines luck and decision-making. Players must strategize to maximize their points by choosing the best combinations while being mindful of the risk of rolling low-scoring results. The objective of Threes is to accumulate points by rolling specific combinations of threes with a set of dice.
Materials:
- Five standard dice.
- A scorecard or a way to keep track of scores.
- The remaining Gold Cup dice to be used as scoring points.
Setup:
- Designate a player to be the scorekeeper and create a scorecard. The scorecard typically lists various point-scoring combinations for players to aim for, and it may look something like this:
- Three 1s: 100 points
- Three 2s: 200 points
- Three 3s: 300 points
- Three 4s: 400 points
- Three 5s: 500 points
- Three 6s: 600 points
- One 1: 100 points
- One 5: 50 points
Rolling Dice:
- In each turn, a player rolls all five dice at once.
Scoring:
- Points are scored based on specific combinations, and the scoring rules are as follows:
- Three of a kind: For any combination of three identical dice (e.g., three 2s, three 5s), the player scores the points as indicated on the scorecard.
- Single 1: A single 1 is worth 100 points.
- Single 5: A single 5 is worth 50 points.
Decision Making:
- After rolling, the player must decide how to score the dice and mark the appropriate points on their scorecard.
- The player can only choose one combination per roll, even if there are multiple valid combinations available (e.g., three 2s and a single 1).
Accumulating Points:
- Points are added to the player's total score after each roll and scoring decision.
Winning the Game:
- The game continues with each player taking turns. The first player to reach or exceed a predetermined winning point total (e.g., 1,000 points) is declared the winner.
Variations:
- The remaining dice in the set can be used as a scoring system as compared to writing the s
