Instructions
Objective: The objective of Midnight is to score points by rolling a 1 and a 4 and adding the remaining dice up as their score for that round.
Materials:
- Six dice
- Remaining dice to be used as score counters. Recommended Betting Table values is "1-2-3".
Gameplay:
- The first player is chosen by whoever won the previous game or through some other method.
- The first player rolls all six dice, the player chooses which dice to keep, and which to discard. The player must choose to keep at lease one di, but can also keep all dice and end early.
- In order for the player to score, by the end of all rolls, they must have kept a 1 and a 4.
- The remaining dice is their score for that turn.
- if a player did not keep a 1 and a 4 by the end of their turn, they score zero points for that round.
Winning the Game:
The Game is scored and won in either two methods:
- Players determine a max number of rounds, and the top player score after this number of rounds is the winner.
- Players buy in and start with a number of chips. Every round requires the players to offer up an anti matched by the other players, and the winner of that round collects all the antis. Once a player runs out of chips, they are no longer allowed to play. Players can buy back in by purchasing chips separately.
Variations:
- One variation is that the max number of rolls-per-player per round are determined by the first player to roll. So if the first player rolls only one time and chooses to keep that score, then the remaining players only have one round to roll. If the the first player rolls three times, subsequent players may roll up to three times.
