Instructions
Objective:
The objective of Chō-han is to correctly predict whether the total of two dice rolls will be an even number (Chō) or an odd number (Han).
Materials:
- 2 standard dice.
- Betting chips, remaining dice, or currency for wagering.
- Banker receives the gold cup to roll dice and the barrel to store remaining dice to be used to bet with
Setup:
- Players sit in a circle or around a table, and a designated player may act as the banker to oversee the game's flow and handle the betting.
Betting:
- Before each round, players place their bets by putting their betting chips or currency into the center of the playing area.
Rolling Dice:
- The banker rolls two dice.
Determining the Outcome:
- Players make their bets by calling out "Chō" (even) or "Han" (odd) before the dice are revealed.
Revealing the Dice:
- After players make their bets, the banker reveals the result by showing the total sum of the two dice.
Winning Bets:
- Players who correctly guessed the outcome (Chō or Han) win the bets from the pot. Those who guessed incorrectly lose their bets.
Paying the Banker:
- The banker collects a percentage of the winnings, which may vary depending on house rules or agreements among players.
Continuing Rounds:
- The game proceeds with players placing bets and the banker rolling the dice for multiple rounds.
