Instructions
The objective of craps is to bet on the outcome of a roll of two dice, with various possible bets and outcomes.
Materials:
- 2 dice.
- Remaining dice as currency or chips or other form of currency.
Gameplay:
The Come-Out Roll:
- A round of craps begins with the "come-out roll." One player (the shooter) is designated to roll the dice.
- The shooter makes a bet, often referred to as the "pass line" bet. Other players at the table can also place bets.
Pass Line Bet:
- If the come-out roll is a 7 or 11, the pass line bet wins even money.
- If the come-out roll is a 2, 3, or 12 (craps), the pass line bet loses.
- If the come-out roll is any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), that number becomes the "point."
Establishing the Point:
- The shooter continues to roll the dice until they roll the point number again (a "hit") or roll a 7 (a "seven-out").
- If the shooter hits the point number before rolling a 7, the pass line bet wins. If they roll a 7 before hitting the point number, the pass line bet loses.
Other Betting Options:
- Players at the table can place various bets on different outcomes in craps, such as "Don't Pass" bets, "Come" bets, "Don't Come" bets, and proposition bets (bets on specific dice combinations or outcomes).
Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 (Craps):
- Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll or during subsequent rolls is known as "craps." Players who bet on the pass line lose, but players who bet on the "Don't Pass" win when craps are rolled on the come-out roll.
Rolling a 7:
- Rolling a 7 is a crucial outcome in craps. If a 7 is rolled before the point number in subsequent rolls, it's called a "seven-out," and the pass line bets lose.
Continuation:
- After a round is resolved (either with a hit or a seven-out), a new shooter is selected, and a new round begins.
Winning the Game: Players can enjoy multiple rounds and aim to maximize their winnings or minimize their losses based on their bets.
Variations:
- Craps has various betting options and regional variations. Some casinos offer side bets and additional rules.
- If you would like to add a variation to these rules, leave an Amazon review with the variation in the review for it will be added to this section.
